Gawli obtains anticipatory bail in alleged conspiracy case
Mumbai, Dec 12 (UNI) A Court here today granted anticipatory bail to underworld don-turned-politician Arun Gawli in connection with his alleged involvement in a conspiracy cas.
Gawli is alleged to have been a part of a conspiracy hatched by aspiring actress and model Preeti Jain to eliminate film producer Madhur Bhandarkar.
Additional Sessions Judge Abhay Thipsay granted anticipatory bail to Gawli on a bond of Rs 10,000. However, the court directed him to appear before the investigative agency as and when required.
Gawli, fearing arrest, approached the Sessions Court with his anticipatory bail plea.
The prosecution said Jain had allegedly given the contract to Naresh Pardeshi, an alleged associate of don-turned-MLA Arun Gawli to eliminate Bhandarkar.
In the case, five people, including Jain, Das, were arrested.
After her release on bail, Jain had alleged that police had been pressurising her to be turn approver so that they could be able to book Gawli in the case.
