Engineering exports to Germany grows by 28 per cent: VDMA director

Kolkata, Dec 12 (UNI) Indian export of engineering products and machineries to Germany have touched 50 million Euros registering a 28 per cent growth in the current financial year.

VDMA Director Rajesh Nath told UNI today that Indian imports from Germany has also increased substantially, registering a growth of 52 per cent, compared to last fiscal. The import from Germany stood at 2 billion Euros in the current fiscal.

Speaking about West Bengal, Mr Nath said a number of delegations are coming to the state with change of its perception in the global market.

''Last year's delegation to Hannover Fair has helped changing the image of the state among German investors,'' he said.

Hannover fair would be organised in Germany from April 16 to 20 April, 2007. The fair would be featuring 13 international fairs at the same time. About 6,000 exhibitors are expected to participate in this fair. The fair would mirror many technological developments and Turkey is this year's business partner.
