Election to Guna councillor post postponed

Guna, MP, Dec 12 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh State Election Commission has postponed the election to the post of councillor in Guna municipality.

Collector Gopal Krishna Srivastava said Ms Pushpa Shatrudh Sharma of ward number 33 in Guna was elected as Guna councillor on November 24, 2004. However, the Guna District Magistrate cancelled her election on August 21 for having more than two children.

Later, the Gwalior bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court quashed the DM's order on December 4.

In view of the High Court ruling, the state election commission postponed the election, earlier scheduled to take place on December 27.
