New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) DS Constructions Ltd (DSCL) today tied up with Flughafen Munchen GmbH (FMG)- Munich Airport International to bid for the restructuring and modernisation of Indian airports.

DSCL, a public private partnership (PPP) infrastructure developer and engineering construction, will hold 80 per cent of the stake, under the partnership name of 'Indian Gateway Airports' and will jointly participate in the bidding for the airports that have been identified by the Government of India.

The consortium will form a special purpose vehicle to undertake the work on the project, if awarded.

FMG besides doing the master planning will provide the services related to management and operations and the related aeronautical and non-aeronautical services and environment management while DSCL will be responsible for infrastructure development and construction.

Flughafen Munchen GmbH Head of International Projects Norbert Reigl said, ''The aviation sector in India is on an upswing and has immense potential that is yet to be unleashed. Moreover, with the Government of India deciding to restructure and modernise various airports in the country, we feel that this is an attractive market for us.'' DSCL's local experience, expertise and proven track record in infrastructure creation combined with our experience in airport planning, management and operations we are very confident of being part of the restructure and modernisation initiative of the Government of India, he said.

DSCL Director N D Mehra added, ''We had bid for the Privatisation of Mumbai and Delhi Airports as consortium along with Munich Airport. The DSC-Munich consortium along with GMR-Fraport and Reliance-Mexico were the only three consortiums that finally technically qualified for both the Delhi and the Mumbai Airports amongst various other global consortiums.'' We have been keenly following the developments in this direction and are keen to bid for the Indian airports, he added.

DSCL recently entered into a tie up with Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) the sole integrated utility provider in Israel and amongst the top five state electricity boards in the world, to bid for ultra mega power projects in India.

The consortium has bid for the 4000 MW Krishnapatnam Project and has been pre-qualified and plans to bid for other ultra mega power projects in Orissa, Chattisgarh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
