Pune, Dec 12 (UNI) The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is attracting experts through incentives with help from the Central government and use of modern work techniques and practices, to stop their migration to other organisations in search of better opportunities.

In a release here, DRDO R&D Chief Controller Dr Prahalada, while addressing the Eight National Conference on Air Breathing and Aircraft Propulsion at the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) here, said world-class professional working environment besides money was crucial to retain the generation of experts who were vanishing fast.

The DRDO, he said, was doing an excellent job whose work was at par anywhere in the world but that was not the perception outside.

He appealed to young scientists to prepare a roadmap, demand what they want and told them to go ahead with it. The 30 to 40 per cent growth being witnessed in all activities of aircraft making and keenness of all major R&D players including Honeywell, Boeing, Airbus to come to India, provides tremendous opportunities, which needs to be exploited.

He stressed the need to develop a software package for design engineers and researchers in the field of high temperature materials and super alloys, the release stated.

DIAT Vice Chancellor Dr P Ramchandra Rao said this kind of gathering provided good environment to tackle these problems. More than 60 technical papers of scientists from organisations like ISRO, DRDO, CSIR, IISC and IIT are being presented in the three-day conference which is being attended by experts from France, UK, Russia and Belgium, the release added.
