Dopod International forays Indian into market
New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) Mobile communications company, Dopod Communication Private Ltd today announced its entry in the Indian market, with the launch of three new handset models, 818 Pro, C800 and C720W.
''We are pleased to offer handsets that aim to provide the combined power of telecom and IT through a unique, convergent solution with Microsoft that will change the way Indian business leaders and small and medium entreprises (SMEs) manage business communication while being on the move,'' Dopod Communication Regional Sales Manager Ajay Sharma said.
The range of Windows Mobile devices namely the C800, C720 and 818Pro, will allow Indian business leaders to manage their business communications while being on the move and enjoy and experience true mobility, he further added.
The distribution of its handsets models in India would start through a strategic tie-up with national distributor Jaina Marketing and Associates.
In addition, the company will also initiate discussions with leading operators in the Indian market.
In the first phase Dopod International plans to make its handsets available to Indian customers in 10 cities and there are plans to increase to 25 cities within 2007.
''Microsoft is committed to offering the highest value proposition to its customers both in terms of software and choice of form factors. We are seeing customers in India, like in other parts of the world, wanting and demanding Windows Mobile powered phones,'' Microsoft India Business Group Head Sumeet Gugnani said.
Dopod International Corp has already established its presence in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Australia.
