CM's road show gets warm welcome in Jalandhar
Jalandhar, Dec 12 (UNI) Chief Minister Amarinder Singh's Punjab Vikas Yatra today arrived here to a warm welcome by the Congress workers and supporters who raised slogans and waved flags.
After a brief welcome halt at PAP Chowk here, Mr Singh's cavalcade comprising 100-odd vehicles passed through various localities of the city including Choggatti, Jyoti Chowk and Buta Mandi.
The chief minister had begun the third phase of his yatra from Ballachor in Nawanshahr district and passed through various places enroute to Hoshiarpur. After night halt, Capt Singh began his yatra from Hoshiarpur this morning. He would proceed for Nawanshahr via Phagwara tomorrow morning to conclude the third phase by the evening.
In the fourth phase of the road show later this month, Mr Singh would cover the Southern region of the state.
Five more phases of the yatra would be undertaken in the months of January and February.
The yatra, which was launched from Nangal on November 8, aimed at brightening the electoral prospects of the ruling Congress in the assembly election due in February.
