Child prodigy surprises all by her quick wit
Chennai, Dec 12 (UNI) Three-and-half year old Ashika, an LKG student of Kaligi Ranganathan Montford Matriculation Higher Secondary School here, is winning laurels as a child prodigy and a 'mini fact bank', who is able to retain more than 400 facts in her memory.
The school authorities today introduced the young talent at a news conference where she answered several questions with her quick wit like -- the inventor of the electric pulp, definition of HIV and others-- posed by the journalists.
Ashika's mother Mrs Shoba Rani said her daughter began to show signs of a highly retentive memory from her age of one.
He also claimed that the child prodigies were not rare for them.
Starting from 1990, their school was privileged to have many such.
Citing one of such incidents he said in 1990, Master Vasudevan, at the of nine, was a Maths Wizard and had even challenged the calculator. He could answer any question on multiplication, division and perfect square root.
In 1992, Malarkodi, a first standard student, had recited 130 Thirukurals. Again in 2005, class two student Subash drove a car and got entry into the Limca Book of Records, he added.
