Central Para Military Forces to be modernised in phased manner

New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) The Centre is modernising the Central Para Military Forces in a phased manner, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Shriprakash Jaiswal said in a written reply the modernisation of the Central Para Military Forces would be completed by 2007 with an outlay of Rs 3740.71 crores.

He said this includes modernisation of weaponry, machinery and equipment, transport, communication, surveillance systems and training needs.

He said the five year outlay in the scheme for modernisation of weaponry for all the forces is Rs 1572.26 crore.

He said the implementation of the modernisation plan by the Central para military forces is being closely monitored and received by this Ministry to ensure proper utilisation of the allotted budget.
