CBI files chargesheet in CGHS scam
New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation today filed a chargesheet in the Co-operative Groups of Housing Society scam.
The chargesheet, filed in the court of Justice G P Mittal, names Gokulchand Aggrawal, a builder, and Narayan Diwakar, the registrar, as the accused besides seven others in the Anand CGHS and Ashoka hotel CGHS scams.
According to the CBI, both Anand CGHS and Ashoka hotel CGHS were revived in November 2003 and December 2003 respectively through a fictitious membership.
Wound up earlier on account of dearth of members, both the CGHS were revived in order to get land from the Delhi Development Authority, the chargesheet said.
The accused face charges of forgery, cheating, criminal conspiracy besides under different sections of the Prevention of Corrupt Practices Act.
