Botswana President rolls out red carpet for Indian industrialists

Mumbai, Dec 12 (UNI) President of Republic of Botswana Festus Mogae today urged chieftains of Indian industry to come forward and invest in Botswana - an African country close to South Africa.

''Botswana is the biggest diamond producing country while India is the biggest diamond processing country and we can compliment each other with growing partnership,'' said Mr Mogae while addressing the interactive meeting organised by Indian Merchants Chamber here.

''Come and open factories in Botswana not only in diamond but also in leather products. We are eager for investment from the country which has a greater economy,'' said the visiting President.

He said India is a leading country in Information and Communication Technology and it could benefit the people of Botswana which is a country of 17 million.

Chief Executive Officer of Botswana Export Development Investment Authority Ms M Masira gave a presentation on the occasion showing how their country was a better destination for the investment.
