AP Assembly adjourned over Telangana issue

Hyderabad, Dec 12 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Assembly was adjourned today with major opposition parties stalling the proceedings over the alleged non implementation of the Presidential order and Government Order (GO) 610 on jobs for the local people in the Telangana region.

As soon as the House assembled for the day, Speaker K R Suresh Reddy announced that he was disallowing the adjournment motion, whose notice was given by the opposition parties. Soon, the TRS and other opposition party members, including the TDP, rushed to the well of the House and raised slogans against the Governments alleged failure to implement the GO.

As repeated pleas to resume their seats fell on deaf ears, the Speaker announced the House was adjourned for 30 minutes. While the TRS, TDP, CPI, CPI(M) and AIMIM wanted an immediate discussion on the issue of 610 GO keeping aside listed business, the BJP wanted a discussion on scholarship for the BCs, SCs and STs.

Bahujan Samaj Party leader L Raja Rao gave notice for raising Dalit issues, Janata Party member K Ramulu sought to raise the issue of lack of basic amenities in Government hostels.
