President Abdul Kalam in AP on a short visit

Tirupati, Dec 11: President A P J Abdul Kalam arrived at Renigunta Airport here on a short visit to Andhra Pradesh, today.

Governor Rameswar Thakur and state ministers received Dr Kalam at the airport.

Dr Kalam would visit Glower Atmospheric Wind Profiler at National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) in Gadanki near here and inaugurate the five-day international workshop on technical and scientific aspects of MST (Mesosphere, Stratosphere, Troposhere) Radar.

He would also inaugurate the Radiotherapy Centre and felicitate the major donors of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Cancer Hospital in Nellore district, sources said.

He would leave for New Delhi at 1635 hrs.

Meanwhile, police have enforced heavy security arrangements in view of the visit.
