Is SP untouchable Mulayam

Lucknow, Dec 11 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today charged the Opposition parties with trying to ensure that the Assembly elections in the State were not held with Uttranchal, Manipur and Punjab.

Speaking during an adjournment motion in Zero Hour, Mr Yadav wondered whether the ruling Samajwadi Party was ''untouchable''.

''Why are the Opposition parties bent on ensuring that the elections in UP are not held with other three states...they claim that central forces would not be available to ensure free and fair polls.

''The central forces were available also during the previous elections,'' he said adding that the forces could not be termed as ''impartial'' as they worked under the Centre.'' Mr Yadav also lamented his decision of not requesting for the Assembly polls in the state in December. ''The government could have taken vote-on-account in November and went for the elections in December,'' he said.

He slammed the Opposition for its hue and cry on the law and order in the state and said the heat generated by them would not effect the electorate.
