INPT breaks, new party floated

Agartala, Dec 11 (UNI) A new tribal based party, National Conference of Tripura, (NCT) has been floated by a group of dissident leaders of Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT).

This was announced at a convention by the dssident leaders at Darjeeling tilla School ground under Teliamura sub-division of West District yesterday.

Animesh Debbarma, former INPT MLA and Sabdakumar Jamatia were instrumental in forming the new party as Debbarma was suspended from the INPT last week for his alleged anti-party activities.

Mr Jamatia was the assistant secretary of the INPT central committee.

The NCT has a seven-member executve committee with Rabindra Kishore Debbarma as general secretary.

Other members in the committee were former CPI(M) leader Kartik Kanya Debbarma, Nakshatra Jamatia, Kejari Mog and Nandkishore Reang.
