Crime branch resolves kidnap-ransom case
Mumbai, Dec 11 (UNI) The Crime Branch and Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) of Mumbai Police have nabbed two persons for their alleged involvement in a kidnapping and ransom case here, resolving it after 36 hours of the occurrence of the crime.
Briefing reporters here, Detection Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dattatraya Shinde said Mohammed Akram Mustaq Saifi filed a complaint yesterday with Nehru Nagar police station, in which, he mentioned that his two-year-old son Mohammed Alam was kidnapped by his employee, who demanded a ransom of Rs four lakh for his release.
They transferred the case to the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC), who monitored all the incoming calls of the complainant. This morning, one Nasim Ahmed Habib Ahmed Khan called Saifi and asked him to come to Mulund with the ransom amount. Accordingly, they laid a trap and apprehended him while receiving the money.
During interrogation, he revealed the name of his other associate, Imran Ismail Salmani. He was also nabbed from Hajimalang in Thane district along with the boy, he added.
