CLP meeting discuss various issues

Hyderabad, Dec 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislature Party (CLP) under the leadership of Chief Minsiter Y S Rajasekhara Reddy met this evening at the Assembly building here and discussed the recent bypoll results among other issues.

Addressing the mediapersons after the meeting, Government Chief Whip N Kirankumar Reddy said the members had expressed their views on various issues including government programmes, developmental activities and also on the strategy to further strengthen the party.

He said the CLP also discussed recently concluded bypolls in Bobbili and Karminagar.

The Chief Minister was of the opinion that the two by-elections result were not the reflection of the government's performance in the state.

The Congress wrested Bobbili Lok Sabha seat from the Telugu Desam Party while its candidate lost to the TRS in Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat in the recenlty concluded bypolls in the state.

He said the Chief Minister had expressed his confidence that the Congress would win 35 Lok Sabha seats and 230 Assembly seats in the next elections.

Dr Reddy also announced that a 'Medhomadanam'(Brain storming session) would be held here on January three and four.

AICC General Secretary and incharge of Andhra Pradesh affairs Digvijay Singh and other Congress leaders, MPs and MLAs would take part in the meeting.

He said the Party would mainly discuss the government's developmental programmes, its impact and steps to strengthen the party.
