Dharamshala, Dec 11 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Police today claimed to have solved the murder of a British charity worker, whose body was found inside a cemetery at Macleodganj in Kangra district last month, with the arrest of a man.

Kangra ASP Santosh Patial told UNI that a 28-year-old person, identified as Pawan Bhardwaj, has been arrested for murdering Michael Balkey, who was his wife Owen Rachel's colleague at the Tong-Len Charitable Trust.

He said Bhardwaj was jealous of Blakey's close relationship and even threatened him, asking him to stay away from his wife.

Pawan was arrested on the basis of information gathered from Blakey's laptop and during the police investigation of the murder, Mr Patial said.

The trust is an Edinburgh-based charity working for the welfare of poor in the region.

The ASP said they had zeroed on Panwa after questioning over two dozen people, including foreigners.

Bhardwaj served tea at the charity's office before marrying Ms Rachel in July this year, he added.
