Two Himalayan blackbears added to Zoo

Mysore, Dec 9: Two Himalayan Black Bears, received from MC Zoological Park, Chandigarh, were added to the century old Mysore Zoo here.

According to a release here, two and a half year old 'Shuchitha' and four and a half year old were captive born and were brought in exchange of two Goar. At present the Zoo has five male and one aged female black bear and the addition would help in breeding.

Black bears are found in Kashmir, Hamalaya and Assam extending eastwards into China and Japan.
