Tribal farmer hacked to death
Krishnagar, West Bengal, Dec 9 (UNI) In a case of witch hunting, Sunil Pahari, a village quack and farmer, was hacked to death by a group of four people at Diganata Paharipara village under Murupara police station in Nadia district, police said. Additional Superintendent of police Subrata Kumar Gupta said the 42-year-old Sunil was axed to death by four people on thursday after the latter's relative Shibu Pahari died of sickness the day before.
Mr Gupta said the slain farmer was treating Sunil Pahari for some time.
Mr Gupta said the murder was committed after the killers thought that Sunil was practising witchcraft.
The killers fled the village.
