Temple vandalised

Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, Dec 9 (UNI) A 36-year-old man was arrested after he vandalised a temple at Kallakuruchi in the district this evening.

Police said an apparently drunk Velu broke portraits of Hindu gods and vandalised a pooja pandal.

Angry RSS volunteers resorted to road roko on the Chennai-Salem National Highway blocking traffic for nearly 30 minutes demanding stringent action on such perpetrators and security for temples.

Later, police pacified them and the protestors dispersed.
