Tarundeep Rai 7th after two rounds of competition

Doha, Dec 9 (UNI) Tarundeep Rai kept India's hopes alive for a medal after finishing a commendable seventh at the end the 90m and 70m events in the men's Individual Qualification round (FITA) of the Archery competition at the Asian Games here today.

His other teammate, Mangal Singh Champia, was at 14th place while fancied Jayanta Talukdar was at 16th and Vishwas on 23rd.

Tarundep shot 615, which included five golden hits and 19 10-pointers and he scored 294 in 90m and 321 in 70m.

Champia shot 604 with five arrows hitting the bulls eye and 14 10-pointers. He fired 299 in 90m and 305 in 70 meters.

World Cup winner Jayanta Talukdar had 286 in 90 metres and 315 in 70 metres to total 601 which included six golden hits and 14 10-pointers.

Vishwas was lying with 577 points. He scored 267 in 90 metres and 314 in 70 metres. He had only one golden hit and 10 10-pointers.

The Koreans were occupying the first three slots with Im Dong Hyun leading the field with 641 (308,333), followed by Jang Yong Ho 632(305,327) and Park Kyung Mo 631 (301,330).
