Sugar price falls further on poor demand

Mumbai, Dec 9 (UNI) Sugar prices fell throughout the week on poor demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association today said.

Sugar in small and medium grades declined by Rs two and Rs 17 per quintal, respectively, on sustained heavy selling pressure.

Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades eased by Rs 11 and Rs 15 per quintal on lack of fresh demand.

Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,642/1,700, Medium grade: Rs 1,665/1,770, Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,599/1,620, Medium grade: Rs 1,630/1,660.
