Security beefed up at airport in AP

Hyderabad, Dec 9 (UNI) Security has been beefed up at the Begumpet International Airport here following a nationwide 'high alert' sounded by intelligence agencies over a possible plane hijack by terrorists seeking the release of Mohammed Afzal Guru, parliament attack convict.

Security at the airport has been enhanced with emphasis on vehicle checks and thorough passenger checking, according to police.

Patrolling in and around the airport has been increased.
