Secret Memory wins Harvins Bangalore 2000 Guineas
Bangalore, Dec 9 (UNI) Hot favourite Secret Memory (B Prakash up) claimed the Harvins Bangalore 2000 Guineas (Grade II), the main event of the races held here today.
The winner is owned by Dr M A M Ramaswamy and trained by S Ganapathy.
Trainer S Ganapathy and Jockey B Prakash scored a treble each, while Jockey Harish pocketed a brace.
Punters had a mixed day, with five favourites obliging in a card of nine events.
Meanwhile, the Stipendiary Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club yesterday suspended jockey C Alford, rider of 'Appoint', from December 19 to March 31, 2007, for contravention of rule 159 (b) of the Rules of Racing of BTC.
It may be recalled that punters had ransacked the race course here yesterday in protest against Jockey C Alford failing to finish first despite maintaining a lead and allowing Jockey S Ramesh, rider of 'Hidalgo', to win the 'Bugs Bunny Cup'. They had accused jockey Alford of being involved in 'race fixing'.
