Scientific spiritualism basis for intellectual revolution: Prez
Hardwar, Dec 9 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam today emphasised scientific spiritualism could form the basis for intellectual revolution in the country.
''Science and spirituality are not contradictory. The aim of both is the welfare of humankind,'' Dr Kalam said.
''The universities should become the centres of synthesising science and spirituality'', he said, delivering the convocation address at the Dev Sanskriti University here.
The President exhorted students to be a creator of opportunities.
''True talent lies not in desperate search for opportunities but in arduous efforts to create opportunities, as still there were several fields in the country untried and unsought for which may be turned into opportunities,'' he said.
Emphasising the purity of the environment, he said they cannot make the nation clean without keeping the rivers and places of worship clean.
State governor, Sudershan Agarwal and the Chief Minister, N D Tiwari also addressed the convocation. The Chancellor of the University Dr Pranav Pandya conferred degrees on 529 students.
