Rubber process centre destroyed in a fire

Agartala, Dec 09 (UNI) A rubber processing centre at Kakraban under Udaipur sub-division in Tripura's south district was destroyed in a fire that broke out late last night.

According to official sources the loss of property was estimated to be nearly Rs 19 lakh.

Two fire tenders fought for two hours to control the blaze. A new generator was completely destroyed but the fire fighters saved a siding battery which cost nearly Rs one lakh.

The processing centre was set up two years ago with the help of Rubber Board and Tribal Welfare Department of the state government.

Invstigation into the fire was on.
