Yamunanagar, Dec 9 (UNI) A local court today sentenced a Nepali servant to life imprisonment for killing a 75-year-old woman in Khanpur village in the district.
District Sessions judge Vireder Singh also slapped a fine of Rs 6,000 on Prem Bahadur (20), who slit the throat of Saroj Devi, the mother of his employer, advocate B S Chauhan, on August 13 this year.
Bahadur, awarded the life term under section 302 (murder) IPC, was also convicted under section 457 IPC (criminal trespass) and sentenced for three-year concurrent imprisonment.
Bahadur, who reportedly worked for Maoists in Nepal, had slipped into India to escape the Nepali police.
