RJD to join Madhu Koda government in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Dec 9 (UNI) After extending outside support to the UPA-backed Madhu Koda government in Jharkhand, the RJD today expressed its desire to join the ministry and staked its claim for the post of Chairman of the Steering Committee.

Party in-charge of Jharkhand Ramai Ram, after a review meeting with party workers and MLAs, told reporters here the RJD also seek posts in various boards and corporations.

Mr Ram said he was satisfied with the three-month tenure of the Madhu Koda government and stressed on forming the steering committee for smooth functioninig of the government.

He said seven MLAs of the party did not seek ministerial berths but their proper participation in the government was needed.

Mr Ram said RJD supremo and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad would soon be apprised of the development.

To a query, Mr Ram said the RJD supremo never exerted pressure on JMM supremo Shibu Soren to resign from Lok Sabha, adding Mr Prasad had just given Mr Soren a friendly advice, which had created confusion among other JMM leaders and party workers.

He said the JMM had played a vital role in the formation of Rabri Devi government in Bihar.
