Reliance skips IPPAI seminar
Mumbai, Dec 9 (UNI) Officials from Reliance Energy stayed out of the day-long seminar on 'Pathbreaking power regulation in Gujarat and Maharashtra: A gateway for sale of infirm, captive and renewable power' today.
The event held by Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI), saw participation by 40 IPPs (Independent Power Producers) not only from Maharashtra and Gujarat but also other parts of India.
IPPAI spokesman admitted that there was no representation from Reliance Energy during the seminar.
He, however, said Gujarat Industrial Power Corporation Ltd (GIPCL), Maharashtra State Electricity Board (both distribution&transmission) and others. The issues that were discussded at length during the seminar include captive power plant and ABT (availability bound tariff). Some of the states' regulatory commissions that opined their views on the issue include SKS Kujur, chairman of Jharkhand State regulatory Commission, K P Gupta, Gujarat State Electricity Regulatory Commission and Ajit Pundit, member, Infrastructury Advisory, participated in the seminar.
