President, PM greet Sonia on 60th birthday

New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi turned 60 today.

President APJ Abdul Kalam, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur were the first to greet Ms Gandhi, as the Congress party celebrated the birthday in a ''uniquely sentimental'' way.

Dr Kalam, who is presently at Dehradun, sent a bouquet and a letter of greetings through his personal assistant to the UPA chairperson at her 10, Janpath residence, sources said.

Dr Singh and his wife, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister A K Antony and Home Miniter Shivraj Patil visited her residence to greet her on the occasion.
