Pasla group elects 10 member state secretariat
Jalandhar, Dec 9 (UNI) The new 10-member state secretariat of the Communist Party (Marxist), Punjab (Pasla) was elected unanimously here today.
The election was held at the party's state committee meeting here under the chairmanship of Inderjit Singh Grewal.
Besides, party secretary Mangat Ram Pasla, Harkanwal Singh, Raghubir Singh, Kulwant Singh Sandhu, Trilochan Singh Rana, Amarjit Singh Kular, Rattan Singh Randhawa, Bhim Singh Alampur, Bodh Singh Ghuman and Gurnam Singh Daud, were elected to the state secretariat.
Prior to this, Mr Pasla was re-elected as the party secretary during the party's state convention in Amritsar held between November 26 and 29.
The state committee reiterated its resolve to fight against both the ruling Congress and opposition Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) and Bharatiya Janta Party combine in the assembly elections.
It also expressed its intentions to contest election unitedly with CPI, CPI-ML, RSP and Forward Block.
The party state committee also decided to support 'rasta roko' agitation by nine farmers' outfits of Punjab on December 13 for safeguarding their lands.
