Over Rs 25 lakh robbed from PNB branch in Sultanpur
Sultanpur, Dec 9 (UNI) In a daring daylight robbery, four unidentified men decamped with over Rs 25 lakh from a branch of the Punjab National Bank in the district this afternoon.
Police said four unidentified bandits stormed into the PNB in Chowk area and locked the staff, alongwith others present, in the strong room.
Though the bank staff apparently failed to alert the nearby police station through the alarm, passers-by, who witnessed the heist, informed police.
Though the dacoits had already managed to ascape with the cash, police reached the spot and locked the building gates from outside, following reports that at least two of the dacoits were on the terrace.
Later, the people locked inside the bank were released by the police.
A manhunt has been launched to arrest the accused.
