Over 1.13 Lakh tonnes fertilisers available in J

Jammu, Dec 9 (UNI) With a view to facilitate the farmers of the state to take the best advantage of fertiliser for boosting production different kinds of fertilisers during the current Rabi Season are being supplied to agriculturists in Jammu and Kashmir.

In this connection, 1,13,486 tonnes of fertilisers are being made available in the state by agriculture and cooperative departments through various manufacturing companies.

This was stated by the Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Abdul Aziz Zargar in a meeting convened here today to review the stock and supply position of fertilisers in the state.

The meeting was informed that 50,000 tonnes of urea is being supplied to the state by IFFCO, NFL and Chambal Manufacturing Companies, whereas 53536 tonnes of DAP fertilisers are being provided by these companies. These companies will also provide 10,000 tonnes of MOP to the state agriculture and cooperative department for the current Rabi Season.

The Minister asked the directors of agriculture to workout the actual requirements of fertilisers for the current rabi so that the same could be projected before the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers for early availability.
