One militant killed in Poonch, jawan injured

Jammu, Dec 9 (UNI) A militant was gunned down by the security forces in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir today while a jawan was also wounded in the encounter, sources said.

A militant was killed in an encounter with Rashtriya Rifles (RR) at Banola village in the bordering district, while a jawan also received splinter injuries, defence sources said.

The identitity of the slain militant could not be ascertained yet.

More details are awaited as the encounter was still on, the sources added.
