Most educated mothers in MP happy with just two kids
Bhopal, Dec 9 (UNI) Most educated mothers in Madhya Pradesh -- a state with a declining gender ratio -- prefer not to have a third child, as per statistics of the Third National Family Health Survey, 2005-06.
The exercise was conducted between April and August by the Jaipur-based Indian Health Management and Research Institution with assistance from the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry and international agencies.
As many as 81.9 per cent mothers of two children each did not desire more offspring.
An interesting revelation was that only 27.6 per cent of uneducated mothers were happy with two girls while the percentage was 97.9 in women who had studied upto high school or above. The percentage was 97.3 in such educated mothers who had two boys or a girl and a boy each.
