Jalandhar, Amritsar coldest in Punjab

Jalandhar, Dec 9 (UNI) With the minimum temperature of 4.4 degree celsius, Jalandhar and Amritsar remained the coldest places in the region even as the mercury continued to show a downward trend during the past 24 hours.

An official spokesman quoting Airforce Met Centre data, said that the minimum temperature recorded a fall of 1.4 degrees at Jalandhar's Adampur Airport this morning. The temperature dipped by one degree in adjoining city of Amritsar.

In Pathankot, the the mercury touched the mark of 9 degree Cclsius this morning, a fall of 1.2 degrees during the past 24 hours.

Contrary to this, minimum temperature recorded a rise of one degree at Ludhiana's Halwara Airport today. The temperature was six degree Celsius this morning.

With the temperatures showing a downward trend, foggy weather conditions are also likely to return in the next two days, the spokesman added.
