India, UAE to sign MoU for welfare of Ind workers

Dubai, Dec 9: The UAE and India will sign a Memorandum ofUnderstanding (MoU) outlining measures to ensure the welfare of Indianworkers.

The MoU, which was pending for a long time, would be signed duringthe forthcoming visit of UAE Labour Minister Dr Ali Bin Abdullah AlKaabi to India.

Mr Kabi, will leave for India on December 12 as the head of ahigh-level delegation on a four-day visit. He would sign the pact withMinister of Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi, and later he wouldmeet Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthananthan in Thiruvanthapuram.

The UAE has taken several measures to ensure that the indianworkers get their entitlement and safeguard their interests, IndianAmbassador Chandra Mohan Bhandari told a local media here.
