Haryana spends 145 crore on Sampooran Gramin Yojana
Chandigarh, Dec 9 (UNI) The Haryana government has spent an amount of Rs 145 crore under the Sampooran Gramin Yojana so far and distributed 68,868 tonnes of wheat as wages to labourers in the state.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dharambir Singh today said a sum of Rs 36 crore had been spent in 45 Blocks under the Desert Development Programme so as to improve the condition in dry and arid zones of the state.
Besides, 140 schemes had also been sanctioned for conservation of water.
Mr Singh said that under the Swaran Jayanti Self Employment Scheme, an amount of Rs 30.12 crore had been spent to provide self employment opportunities to 23769 persons belonging to various categories such as those living below poverty line, small and marginal farmers, rural artisans and agricultural and landless labourers.
He said that 603 works had been completed under this scheme in district Sirsa at a cost of Rs 20.54 crore.
A decision had been taken to constitute the Third Finance Commission so as to improve the financial condition of Panchayati Raj Institutions.
The PRIs had been provided financial assistance worth Rs 50 crore as per the recommendations of the Second Finance Commission during last year.
