Delhi for Centre's support to host 2014 Asian Games

New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today sought Centre's support for staking a claim to host the 2014 Asian Games.

We look forward to holding Asian Games 2014. Though these games would be held in Delhi yet because of their national importance, we would require the support and involvement of all concerned, she said in her address at the National Development Council Meeting here.

''We particularly look forward to adequate support from the union government.'' Noting that holding of 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi was a matter of pride for us, Ms Dikshit said that her government had already worked out its schedule for timely completion of all identified projects relating to the Games.

''We could do similar preparation for the Asian Games if they were given to us,'' she added.
