CBI nabs SECL official

Bilaspur, Dec 9 (UNI) Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths today arrested a senior official of the South-Eastern Coalfelds Ltd while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh here, sources said.

Simultaneous raids took place at the office and residence of General Manager (Civil) A K Hazari. Several documents were seized from both locations.

Mr Hazari had demanded the money from Contractor Sunil Agrawal to extend the deadline for road-laying in Deepika locality. Following the contractor's complaint, a seven-member CBI team arrived today.

The manager's bank accounts are being probed.
