BJP demands Congress to spell out stand on Telangana issue

Hyderabad, Dec 9 (UNI) BJP's Andhra unit chief Bandaru Dattatreya today demanded that the Congress spell out its stand on separate statehood for Telangana.

In a statement here, he alleged that the Congress had no commitment on formation of separate Telangana and they were ''disregarding the sentiments'' of the Telangana people.

He said the verdict of the people of Telangana in the recently concluded byelection to Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency clearly indicated that the people were in favour of statehood for the region.

He demanded that the Congress should introduce a Bill in the Parliament on separate Telangana.
