Vestas Group completes strategic repositioning in India

Mumbai, Dec 8 (UNI) Vestas Wind Systems A/S, global leader in wind power, today formally announced that its subsidiary company, NEG Micon India Pvt Ltd will henceforth be known as Vestas Wind Technology India Pvt Ltd.

Vestas Wind Technology India Managing Director Ramesh Kymal told reporters ''This is the third biggest market after the USA and Germany. Vestas Wind Systems A/S recently entered into an agreement with Vestas RRB India Ltd transferring its shareholding of approx 49 per cent in Vestas RRB India Ltd to the Managing Director of Vestas RRB India Ltd.'' In India, Vestas currently manufactures the 759 kW and the V82-1.65 MW, predominantly for the Indian market. Hence the production facilities in India will now also be utilised in Vestas' global manufacturing set up. The V82-1.65 MW is the largest capacity wind turbine commercially manufactured and sold in India and it is a very successful turbine type in the Asia Pacific region. The Present Indian manufacturing facility has a capacity to manufacture 600 units of the V82-1.65 MW wind turbine a year, he added.
