US House of Rep receives report on nuke bill
Washington, Dec 8: The US House of representatives has receivedthe report of the conference committee on the India-US civilian nuclearcooperation bill.
The clerk of the House made a brief announcement to this effect onthe floor of the House yesterday and it continued with the agenda ithad on hand.
This means that the conference committee, comprisingrepresentatives of the House and the Senate, has finished its work onthe controversial legislation and it would now come, first before theHouse and then Senate, for formal approval, he said.
According to Congressional sources, the Rules Committee of theHouse will meet soon and decide time for the House to take up themeasure for discussion and passage, which is now just a formality.
