Twelve Opposition parties call for restarting peace talk
Guwahati, Dec 8 (UNI) Twelve Opposition political parties in Asom today staged a dharna demanding renewal of peace process between the Union Government and Ulfa, an underground outfit.
The NCP, AGP(P), PLP, RSP, RCPI, Jatiya Aikya Mancha, CPI(ML), SUCI, SP, JD(S), JD(U) and AUDF jointly staged dharna for two hours and demanded that violence be stopped in Asom.
To start the negotiation, a delegation has recently called on the the President, the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister in New Delhi to press for early resumption of talks.
