Tributes paid to social reformer

Rajahmundry, Dec 8 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj and Endowments Minister J C Diwakar Reddy today paid rich tributes to late social reformer Kandukuri Veerasalingam, who was instrumental in bringing about social changes like widow marriage.

Addressing the 'Hithakarini Samaj' Centenary celebrations here Mr Reddy said Veerasalingam was committed to the uplift of women.

He fought against the social evils of his time tirelessly, he added.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Reddy promised to release funds for the renovation of V T Junior College which is in a delapidated condition.
