TN hold all aces against Haryana in Ranji clash
Chennai, Dec 8 (UNI) Tamil Nadu hold all the aces to put Haryana under pressure in their pursuit for an outright win and garner maximum points in the third league match in Elite Group A Ranji trophy cricket championship beginning at the M A Chidambaram stadium here tomorrow.
However, while Haryana start as underdogs with Tamil Nadu enjoying the home advantage, the hosts cannot take the contest lightly, with their bowlers allowing Andhra to force a draw after forcing them to follow on in the previous match.
This was reflected by Tamil Nadu's coach former India batsman, W V Raman, who observed '' We just could not make it in the last match, outright.'' ''But this time we are better prepared. There is always room for improvement'', he said, adding the batsmen slowed down despite the Andhra bowling not being very incisive as the side was losing wickets. ''We were cautious. This time we will go for it'', he said.
''Haryana is a weaker side but will not take them easily. We have to take all teams seriously'', Raman added.
However, Haryana are confident of putting up a better show despite having lost both their earlier outings against Andhra and Karnataka. After drawing a blank against Delhi, Tamil Nadu opened their points tally getting two from the drawn match against Andhra.
