TN Govt must take action: People's Rights org

Puducherry, Dec 8: Puducherry based Federation for People's Rightstoday urged the Tamil Nadu government to take stringent action againstthe 'Hindutva forces' that damaged the Periyar statue at Sri Rangam.

In a statement here, Federation Secretary G Sugumaran said the desecration of Periyar statue was a 'barbarious act'.

He said it was Periyar, who strived hard for upliftment of the Scheduled Caste and Backward Class people.
