Three of marriage party killed in van-bus collision

Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, Dec 8 (UNI) Three people of a marriage party were killed on the spot and eight injured when the van in which they were travelling collided head-on with a state-owned bus at Kodai Road under Ammanayakkanur police limits in the district today.

Police said the accident occurred when the van carrying 11 people from Usilampatti in adjoining Madurai district, was proceeding towards Ammanayakkanur.

The victims were identified as N Soundara Pandian (25), S Malaichamy (26) and C Karmegam (35).

The van was smashed in the collision, police said adding the injured were being treated at a private hospital here.
