STM to up headcount in India; pump in $20-30mln annually
New Delhi, Dec 8 (UNI) Launching the set-top box decoder chip, European chipmaker ST Microelectronics (STM) today said it would increase its headcount in India to 3,000 professionals from the current 1,700, besides investing 20-30 million dollars per annum from 2007.
''The company will hire 300-400 new design engineers every year to sustain its growth in the India operations,'' company Vice President of emerging markets Thierry Tingaud told reporters here.
Having invested 30 million dollars in the country till date, the company will invest 20-30 million dollars from the next year, Mr Tingaud added.
